Parks/Lake Access
CARSTENS LAKE

Carstens lake is approximately 20 acres in size and reaches a maximum depth of about 30 feet. The public lake access has a parking space 15 car/trailer units. Several years ago, the Department of Natural Resources poisoned off the lake and a fish weir was installed within the inlet stream to block off the spawning runs of rough fish from Lake Michigan.

Facilities include a port-a-pier and toilet building provided by the Manitowoc County Fish and Game Association. A picnic area has been recently added to this access.

Adult northern pike and bass have been planted to restock the lake. Use of motors, except electric motors, are prohibited.

Location: Carstens Lake Road, Town of Newton
Directions: Take Highway 42 South approximately 4 miles from Manitowoc to Carstens Lake Road. East .5 miles to driveway to the North.
