Aging Resource Center Volunteer Opportunities

Peer Companions - Provides one-on-one companionship to individuals
dealing with grief, isolation, mild depression, life adjustment situations, or
other problems. Training is provided.
|
|
Commission on Aging - Serves
on the advisory committee to the Aging Resource Center. Must have an interest in older people and
working for what is best for them.
|
|
Volunteer Drivers - Takes
the elderly or disabled to medical appointments.
|
Human Services Department
|
|
Babysitters Babysitters
are needed to care for the children of foster parents during trainings and
monthly meetings and to care for children of clients during intakes and regular
meetings.
|
|
Mentors - Mentors are needed for at-risk
youths who need healthy relationships with caring adults.
|
|
Parent Aides Mature men and women are needed who
are interested in providing concerned, caring service (3 to 5 hours per week)
to parents experiencing stress and difficulty coping in their parent role.
|
|
Sponsors Individuals can make financial
donations to the foster parent program and other services which benefit at-risk
youth.
|
|
Volunteer Drivers - Drivers needed to drive long and short
distances to pick up children in the State of Wisconsin. Must use own vehicle and will be reimbursed
for mileage.
|
|
Visitation Supervisor Supervise visits between parents and children that are currently in foster
care.

Manitowoc County Nutrition Program
|
|
Volunteer Meal Site Coordinator Manage one of four meal sites in the county. Daily record keeping, supply order and
ordering meals are routine duties.
|
|
Meal Delivery Driver - Pick up home delivered meals in carriers from meal sites and deliver
them to home bound folks. This service
takes about an hour of time. Volunteers
can sign up for as little or as often as they like.
|
|
Kitchen Help - Help package meals for Home Delivered Meals and prepare dining area for
meals. Serving meals and cleanup is
part of the routine activity. This service takes about 2 hours of time.

Manitowoc County Fair Booth
Volunteer To greet and hand out educational materials to visitors at the
Solid Waste and Recycling booth at the County Fair on County Solid Waste and
Recycling Programs.

|
Computer and Florescent Bulb
Collection Volunteer To greet, hand out educational materials and
assist users of the Computer and Florescent Bulb Collection Program.
|
|
Earth Day Celebration Volunteer To greet and hand out educational materials to visitors of the Earth Day
Celebration on County Solid Waste and Recycling Programs.
|
|
Home Compost Bin Sale Worker To greet, hand out educational materials and assist users of the Home Compost
Bin Sale Program.
|
|
Clean Sweep Volunteer To
greet, hand out educational materials and assist users of the Clean Sweep Program(s).

CareCall Program Volunteer - This is program provides telephone reassurance outreach to homebound citizens
throughout Manitowoc County. Callers
volunteer their time two or three times a month at times chosen by the
volunteer. Calls are made from the
Volunteer Services office on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. 11:00
a.m.
